  • Second Sanctuary church in Iowa to respond to needs of undocumented workers
  • A Reconciling Congregation which openly welcomes, gay, lesbian, bisexual and Tran gendered person into the full life of the community.
  • Supported and testified on behalf of the Cedar Rapids Human Rights Amendment, adding gender identity to the Civil Rights Code.
  • Congregational representative accompanied refugees returning to home villages in El Salvador during its civil war.
  • Collection and distribution center for a Quest for Peace shipment aid to Nicaragua with school supplies sent yearly.
  • Provided sanctuary for the Cedar Rapids Women's Clinic to maintain its blood-pressure check service and counseling while it was under fire for issues of reproductive choice.
  • Support for Pastors for Peace humanitarian aid to Cuba and Central American countires.
  • Picketing and strike support with working people in their efforts to have a better life.
  • Involvement in world, national and local issues: peace, justice, labor, women's issues, the pro-choice movement and gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender concerns.
  • Support for and solidarity with Hispanic immigrants.
